Michael's Great Railway Journeys TV Programme by rick694uk on 23 November 2002 8:39am

Hi All,

Hope everyone is well. I'm sure a few hearts are fluttering again, with the upcoming London book-signings!

I thought you'd like to know that Michael's Great Railway Journeys TV programme is being screened on BBC2 bet: 1pm-1.55pm on Saturday 30th Nov. (7 days time!!!)

It's the one where he traces his Irish roots back through Ireland, drinks Guinness with some nuns and meets The Edge from U2, amongst other stuff.

I know there are many UK members as well as several in Ireland, so it should make some of us rather happy!

Sorry to our American, Canadian and Antipodean folks!

Rick

This antipode does not mind because she has the video. Now it would be a different matter if it had been the other Railway Journey I have not seen yet.

I agree with you, wish it had been the earlier journey "Confessions Of A Trainspotter". I did see it ages ago but can`t remember an awful lot about it.

Last time this American complained she ended up finding a resource to see several of Michael's GREAT travel series, so maybe if I complain a bit more... ;O)

I've always admired the Edge - very cool that the two meet up.

it's not fair - did the BBC wait for me to leave the country to show the reruns of all of Michaels travel series? I can't believe that they are showing railway journeys again. I've been dying to see that for years! ( Well seems like it anyway) I even reduced myself to looking at tv guides in the supermarket when I couln't afford to buy them ( I'm a student by the way) to see if any shows were coming up on tv...

oh cruel fate why do you mock me?!

I guess I complained enough...

...Michael's Great Railway Journeys show is most definitely available on reserve at the library. :O)

:O) Spoiled, aren't I?

I like traveling and I like Michael - this treasure trove I found is overwhelming! Can't wait to get through it all!

I've put some Michael videos/books on my Christmas wishlist but I don't think I'll be getting them. I can't seem to find them to buy anywhere in the US, so it will all probably have to be ordered online.

And, unfortunately, the folks and most of the family are rather inept with computers. Heh heh.
