Worst Books Made Into Movies by notquitenglish on 23 April 2004 6:04am

I'd give "Timeline" a nomination, except I didn't much like the book either. And at leaste the movie had Gerard Butler in it. He's worth an awful lot.

"Killing Me Softly"
A horrific read made into a movie. Did not see the movie but I would imagine it is moronic.
I hated the book so much--- mostly because it wasted my time---I threw it OUT. Never did that to a book before.

I have to notice that many recent films are made after some old great comics. That's even bigger crap!

This is a book made into a movie. I know you've never heard of it, but.....

"Semi-Tough"(1977)-with Burt Reynolds & Kris Kristofferson

The best-selling novel, Semi-Tough by Dan Jenkins, which is firmly entrenched in the canon of great sports literature (American), was disgracefully recreated for the silver screen. I'll never forgive whoever was in charge. And neither will anyone else who read the book. Burt Reynolds was a good choice for the lead, but everything else was just terrible! Still the finest book ever written about American football.

Sorry,...I'm finished now.
