daves travels by scandydave on 21 June 2004 10:55am

hi everyone!

In September 2003 i started my travels!

I am 23 yrs old and from York in England, I am currently in Provence, havin spend 8 months in Nice on the French Riviera!

If anyone is young and travelling I highly recommend Nice! I worked in bars there and there's a fantastic English speaking community from all over the world there!

I have set up a website with details of my adventures on;
http://gone-but-not-forgotten.moonfruit.com

I hope you like my site!

My next stop is Mexico, then I'm travelling and working through South America!

Any advice for mexico would be appreciated!

Just send me a mailto:scandydave@hotmail.com

Hope to hear from you soon!

Dave

Some of the best advice can been found @ www.fco.gov.uk, but this is just about staying safe whilst visting the country you are in. As for mexico I;ve been a couple of times, but just to the touristy parts, ie Cancun, Playa del carmen. I found Cancun to be on the expensive side. Have a good trip !

Sorry Dave,i dont have and dont use Flash. I find it very irritating. Anyway,i'm glad your trip is going well. I have'nt been to Mexico, but you'll have a good time in South America. What line of work are you hoping to get in South America?

LA Hitch Hiking?? by scandydave on 24 July 2004 11:34am

Before I hit Mexico, I'm going to Los Angeles and then traveling down the Californian Coast Line! Anybody done that before? Do you know a good way to travel? Is Hitch Hiking an Option?

Dave, you be better to grab the greyhound or hire yourself a cheap car for this part of the journey.

I did the west coast highway 1 from LA to San Fran about 9 years ago, stopping at Santa Monica, Santa Barbara, Carmel, Monteray and finally San Fran which was a great trip by car, though can't really offer any advice on the opposite way to Mexico.

My parents will be going to Mexico later this year. It's one of the first times that i'm not going to be the guinea pig. Usually i go somewhere first, and then if my reports interest them, they may go as a holiday. Now it's their turn to be the guinea pig. I envy them because they'll be in the Yucatan region, near Palenque and other mayan sites.
