Me, the big sap by Helen on 3 July 2004 4:50pm

I received the series 1 DVD of All Creatures Great and Small yesterday. An early b-day prezzie from my hubby... I AM OVERJOYED!
Anyway, as soon as I heard that familiar theme music and saw James Herriot's car amble through the Yorkshire countryside I started bawling.... I am so thrilled to have this incredible series on DVD.
There are 90 episodes in the whole series-- you bet I will own them all.
YAY!

I did'nt realize so many episodes of ACGAS were made. I also grew up with the series.

"Mr Herriot. You've got vet's hands. Been deliverin' calfs all yer life"

Now, all you need is "Last of the Summer Wine" and "Some mothers do ave em". Oo Betty!

I did a little searching-- the original surgery -- "Skeldale House" is a museum in Yorkshire.
How cool is that?

Ah, All Creatures Great and Small is a wonderful series. I must thank the public library because here in the States I never saw them on PBS. Plenty of Are You Being Served? (and now Coupling), of which I love dearly, but these gems of British tv is up to old, squeaky tapes at the library or searching and buying up dvds. Highly recommended to all!
