Steph's Song of the Week thread - if you like it or not! by Izot on 14 July 2004 5:50pm

This week's Song shall be:

"Some Girls Dance With Women" by JC Chasez.

What? He's from N'SYNC though! Why'd he get picked, out of all those other great songs on the airwaves?

Well, I justify this pick 'cos in the chorus there's a great use of chromatics, and minor/major intervals - it gives it a kind of Eastern feel.

I know, it's pop - but it's catchy. =D

PS: feel free to stick up your songs of the week! I know Godfather would like to stick some of his favourites up here... =D

Yes, I used to like Sugar Sugar, until recently on a long car journey my husband played, several times, a CD called something like Party Hits, you know the sort of thing, which was what seemed like hundreds of well-liked jolly tunes from the past, including S S - each song with exactly the same tempo following seamlessly on, one after the other, all performed by "imitators". Torture.

"Baby It's Cold Out There" by Bing Crosby and Doris Day.

Love that song!
Do I sound too, too archaic, darling?

My favorite song of the mo... hummm (goes off to large mp3 player)... Dunno really, I quite like Us3's Cantaloop (Flip Fantasia), most of Moby's music, and just whatever track is selected at random from my collection.

Don't tend to listen to the radio much now though.

Ho Hummmmm

Didn't Tom Jones and another lady do a cover of that on his last album "Reload"? Assuming it's the same one I'm thinking of. That's a cool song, too. Nice trad swing pick, Felicity =D !
