No

I remember reading that someone (well a group of them) once managed to trap her in the corner of a library and pin her down, but, being unprepared for this chance encounter, sadly they had only the one yardstick between them, so they could only say that she was "at least three foot tall".

I think it's a question of context really. In life, Ms. Woolf was apparently quite tall in stature. But, since Ms. Woolf has been deceased for some years now, wouldn't it now be a question of length, assuming she was buried in the conventional way?

Speaking of Ms. Woolf, I'll be in London for the first time in a couple of weeks, and being a big fan of hers, I'd love to check out the Bloomsbury area. However, my guidebook doesn't indicate any specific Woolf locations. Does anyone know if houses she lived at are marked or anything?

Yes, as far as I know, all her previous homes boast English Heritage blue plaques. The National Trust, meanwhile, own her former home in Sussex.

Who are you who are so wise in the ways of Woolf?
:)

Homes don't boast, only the people in them. I found a couple of websites that might help. www.24hourmuseum.org.uk/trlout_gfx_en/TRA15139.html - hope that's right, lots of information, will check again - also www.walklon.ndirect.co.uk/Saturday/ which mentions a "guided" walk around Bloomsbury and Fitzrovia.

Thank you, Gwen! The 24 Hour Museum site is just what I needed.
