"John Cleese: Seven Ways to Skin an Ocelot" Tour by pluimj on 4 February 2006 7:48am

Has anyone seen him on tour yet? I'm going tomorrow in Chico, (Hopefully, I have to buy tickets off a scalper, the show has been sold out for 10 MONTHS) Any way, if somebody has been, please tell me how disappointed you were so I won't feel so bad if I can't get tickets. If I do get tickets I'll report how good it was, even if I don't I'll just make up a something.

Yes, we want to know, if you get to see it, just watch out for PETA members hunting Mr. Cleese down for wanting to skin an ocelot.

If there are PETA members hunting Mr. Cleese, let me know and I will be happy to hunt said PETA members. (You hit a very sore point with me here, Mike. Animal-loving me volunteered with PETA a long time ago and I was appalled with what I learned about them. If anyone here still thinks PETA has the best interests of animals at heart, e-mail me privately and I will send you some links. [email protected])

Hmm, I've always been curious of PETA. Might have to take you up on that.
Anyway, as for the tour, I haven't seen John Cleese's show. I did find out he is coming to Australia in Septemnber, so I will love to see him when he comes here!

I'll email you Geraldine. I never supported them and always wondered if they were a few French Fries short of a happy meal.

So, I was able to get tickets and excellent tickets at that, right in the center about 15 ft (5 meters for our limey friends) from the stage. It was a small college venue about 600-900 people. It is a one man show with him telling stories and doing a few sketches with that classic python sense of improper taste. It was quite a long show. He started the show by unbuttoning his shirt and showing us his latest surgical scars. He had a projector and was showing close up of his removed intestine, both whole and dissected. He had a laser pointer and gave a basic anatomy lecture of his removed intestine. His daughter is also in the show together they did a parody of the parrot sketch, instead of a parrot it was a dead trophy wife. Then he told a story about he had told his mother that he was going to take her to a taxidermist when she died, a few minutes later he rolled out his mother, instead of legs she had four castors and was being wheeled around the stage. He then proceeded to tell us why the world should fear short people, he proved this by demonstrating that all the historical despots were all under 5'8'' Dick Cheney (Darth Cheney) being exactly 5'8''. He ended the show by launching a few cats out of a cannon. The entire show was hilarious, if you get a chance to go, go, GO, Gehen Sie! (for our Kraut eating friends) you will not be disappointed. After, the show he came out and the majority of the audience had left and there were about 150 of us and he answered questions from the audience. Really a nice guy, he was walking around the campus before the show and was talking to fans (including myself).

Looks like it was a blast. I like the final description, the therapy show. How California. To paraphrase John Wayne, "Well I'll be Pilgrim."
