Show on Windsor Castle by tucsonmike on 16 February 2006 7:39pm

Before the show on the Blitz, PBS had something on Windsor Castle. It was a major state dinner to celebrate peace between the U.K. and France. (I thought the tunnel did that)? LOL!
It showed how the dinner was thrown off when protesters threw eggs at the cars with the dignitaries delaying their arrival. No Kaz, they were not Creme Eggs but good old fashioned raw eggs!
Just went to show how this major operation could go awry, cause of a few eggs. Something tells me Her Majesty was not amused.

Was I even GOING to mention creme eggs?

I know you, Kaz. You see the word egg and to you egg does not exist anymore without Creme as a prefix.

I saw that show too, Mike. It was pretty good.

Couldn't sleep last night so I turned on the telly and there it was in the middle of the night. I really couldn't believe that they staged a concert version of Les Miz at that state dinner - a tremendously emotional musical devoted to a revolution that overthrew a monarchy and executed a king and queen!!! Weird, truly weird.

P.S. Even though I usually hate over-emotional musicals, I love Les Miz! I used to have to go to New York once or twice a month and my hotel was across the street from the theatre that hosted Les Miz so I ran across the street and saw it several times. It never failed to leave me in tears and ready to storm any available barricade.

P.P.S A bit of trivia - the actor who played Jean Valjean in the original Japanese production of Les Miz is the actor who plays Chairman Kaga in Iron Chef. (I never ceased to be amazed by the multitude of emotions that cross his face when he bites into that bell pepper....)
