For Anne (and any other Spurs fan)...Gutted! by Wild in Africa on 8 May 2006 11:36am

As a fellow Spursfan Anne, I know you feel as gutted as I do about Saturday's match. Isn't it so typical though of this season; to blow it all in the last match after holding 4th place for 5 months.
Do you reckon Arsenal spiked their pasta dish the night before?

I reckon their food was nobbled!! The match should have been postponed. And one of my girls is a gooner!!

Sincere commiserations Anne. Linz

hee hee

in a year or two Leyton Orient could be playing spurs.

Thank you for your commiserations. I think they should, seriously, replay the match. Ok, a league is not one match, but with 10 players and the Manager ill (and I've had food poisoning so I know it's hell)it hardly seems fair to play.

Scotland Yard are (or were) involved - well at least we can say Arsenal could only overtake us because we were not 100% fit.

Highly suspicious - bet the chefs were gooners!!

Incidentally yesterday afternoon I was sitting in a field near Malvern in the sun with my husband, his brother and sister-in-law and couldn't listen to the score without being very rude! Around 5 p.m. I had a txt from my son who is on holiday with his (gooner) girlfriend in Thailand - plus another txt from his girlfriend - both taking the p!! Wait til they get back to the UK!!

The only good thing about the weekend was that my home town team Stafford Rangers were promoted back to the Conference. Whooohooo!!!!!

As miserable as I too feel about Tottenham falling at the final hurdle I am also consoled by my local team Reading FC gaining promotion to the Premiership with a record number of points. They did so well this season and we are all proud of them in Reading. I will have a serious conflict of interest next season though when Tottenham play Reading!

Wait til Rangers get to the Premiership!!! My loyalty would (will?) be with Spurs though.
