The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Fan from India by poortata on 26 September 2006 7:40am
Dear Michaelites,

I am a fan of great michael palin and has read his journeys online in our community library. I am from India and due to currency conversion the cost of DVD's is very high. I was wondering if this community has some sort of arrangements like giving away old DVD's to those who can not afford to buy. If anyone is ready to help I shall be deeply obliged.

I'm sorry I cannot help you with your DVD question, but on behalf of everyone here I thought I'd say "hello!"

In the US and Canada we have trouble because the DVD format is different in the UK / Europe. Even when we order Michael Palin's DVDs from the UK, they do not play on our machines! (Sometimes someone can get one to play on a computer...)

Is there eBay in India?

Good luck... - Cori

Hi! What format does India use for DVD's? I've bought from both UK and US on eBay and the shipping for DVD's doesn't cost too much and, if you wait for awhile and don't buy the first listing of what you are looking for, you can usually find what you want (even Palin DVD's) quite cheap. Good Luck! And Welcome!
