What about the Mrs? by KikiO on 3 February 2007 9:53pm
What is life like for MRS. MP, I wonder?

Does MP dicuss the difficulties of being apart from his wife and family for long periods of time when he travels?

Does she have her own blog, by chance, where she reports what life is like at home while her hubby is out doing his thing?

She doesn't travel along with him, does she? Or does she meet up with him from time to time at various locations?

I'm curious to know what things are like from her perspective. I wouldn't want to be apart from my spouse for weeks on end, especially if it was by choice rather than required for work in order to support the family.

I'm not trying to stir up trouble or make it sound as though MP is a "bad husband" for abandoning his wife and family while he goes on grand adventures.

Not at all.

He is afterall "The Nice One" and most likely wouldn't pursue these travels if it caused personal problems.

Still, it has to be hard on any happily married & loving couple to spend that much time apart, no matter how long they've been married.

Does anyone have any insight on this subject?

Good question. Don't even want to speculate there (I am practicing being a politician).

I asked after her at a signing once, she was ill at the time, and he got a lovely soft look on his face when he spoke about her:)
By all accounts she seems like a very nice person but I think she prefers to stay out of the public eye. And who can blame her? I have some lovely family photos of the Palins (b and W) in a book. They look like a lovely family, and Tom, Michael and Helen's son, is extremely dishy!

Awww! What a sweetheart.

Neat fact about Tom that I heard recently via some Palin fans on LiveJournal--he's in a band. Their other son, Will, is a museum curator.

There`s always been a bit of a `no no` about discussing MP`s private life here on the Chatterbox. Quite rightly, imho. You could get a copy of his Diaries and read what he has to say himself about his marriage and family ...

Oops! Sorry, I didn't know that it was, otherwise I'd not have said anything. My apologies.

I respect the unspoken (?) rule about not discussing MP's personal life, and regret going into detail as I did. To keep it more on track I probably should have simply asked if she traveled with him and/or if she has her own blog regarding that.

Thanks for the heads up.

Apologies for sounding harsh, didn`t mean to come across as sounding bossy ...

Not harsh at all, imo. It's good to point things out to newbies like myself before we unintentionally cross a line.

You didn't, Lou. I'm glad you caught me before I asked a lot of questions. I've been here less than six months, so I'm still learning too.
