I'm having big probs with my 2 cats (they're about 8 months old) The won't stay off the kitchen benches despite knowng theyre not supposed to be there. The have stopped drinking from their numerous water bowls and will only drink from the kitchen sink!, they've even worked out how to open the fish food. To make matters worsethey have started defacating inside (not in the litter tray) which they have never done before. I cannot leave food anywhere as they will eat it despite not being hungry and knowing theyre not allowed on benches or in food cupboards:(. I even caught one on 4 separate occasions trying to tear open a plastic bag of BREADCRUMBS in the pantry!

I don't know wot to do :(

My experience with cats is limited to having only had a few. Before I could have a cat, I needed a cat-door, or similar 24 hour opening, to allow the cat to be in or out at will. I've always thought a cat needs to be outside, to hunt and carouse it will.

Instead of voiding in the house or needing to use a litter-box, these guys would bring in rodents and birds in varying stages of death/near death/good fun to play with.

Sounds to me like your kitties need time outside, kazzzz.
