The great thing about A fish Called Wanda was the timing of everything (I'm thinking about KER-KER-KER-Ken and his attempts at bumping off the old woman and John Cleese with the pendant and getting his kit off).
In FCW Kevin Kline almost reminded me of Steve Martin's early performance in The Man With Two Brains- he was fantastic, but in FC he was diluted down. The star of FC seemed to be John Cleese, which was a shame because there
were a few great comics hiding away in the film- like Ronnie Corbett. The ending seemed to wither out, unlike FCW.
I've heard a rumour that Fawlty Towers is being transformed to film. It will be difficult to do, as the TV series has such a great reputation. I think it's one of the greatest situation comedies I've laid my eyes on.

Hello!

I watched it last night. I quite enjoyed it but Wanda was much better. My favourite two scenes were John in bed with all the animals (the ostrich chick pooping on his hand had me in stitches!) and the sight of Ronnie Corbett dressed in a sea lion costume! The vision of him waddling off in that suit was just hilarious!

I don't think it was quite as sharp as Wanda, and I found the scenes jumped a bit from one to the other. But still a fun movie.

Cheers

I vowed to be the first in line to see Fierce Creatures at the theater when it was to come out, back when I was in high school. I just saw it a few months ago, lol. I thought Wanda was a lot better. FC had some good parts, but it just didn't work as well, I thought. And Michael was in it a LOT less than I expected. But he was in a bee suit, so that made up for it. Kinda.

How about the bit where the crowd is all watching the seal show, and someone says, "Beautiful Plumage"... :p

Oh, gosh, the bee suit!
It embarrassed the heck out of me! (and having the heck embarrassed out of you isn't pleasant let me tell you.) I was thinking the whole time, does this man get embarrassed about *anything*? To which the answer probably is, of course not.

I still crack up when they make jokes about how Michael's character in FC never shuts up! I forget exactly what part it's in and what is said...but it's funny.

:O)
