And let's not forget Sally hand-delivering the signed, globe-trotting card to Mr. Palin's offices. Come rain, come sleet, come hail...no one can ask for more than hand delivered mail!

Thanks Sally! Way above and beyond...

Pete

Sally, love, what do you mean you let somebody down ? It's only because of you this great project came to life at all !! It's *so* great that he finally got it - even if it was a bit late. You've done a fantastic job.
I'm *sure* M.P. was pleased;)
For those who feel let down - there are plenty of future opportunities to participate ! I mean, Christmas, 40th anniv. of Monty Python etc.

Yup, I`m disappointed that I didn`t get to sign the PP card.
At least I didn`t have to put any money in it ;)
I had a Yorkshire farthing all ready and waiting ...

Sorry but I DO feel let down. If it offends anyone I can't help it.

Although I was a little disappointed, I appreciate the difficulties that such a project can be affected by. Thank-you for what you achieved Sally.

Unfortunately Sally has left the site and says she won't be back :(

...and I can understand her.

Put a sock in it Anne, for gawd`s sake. Sally did very well with the project - it was not her fault the postal system went awol.

Re: Project Palin by Spursfan on 12 May 2008 3:06pm

NO I WILL NOT PUT A SOCK IN IT JUST BECAUSE YOU WANT TO SUCK UP TO PEOPLE WHO MAKE A HASH OF THINGS

Re: Project Palin by mrsthing on 12 May 2008 3:14pm

On the one hand, I can understand Sally being cheesed off. She coordinated an around-the-world postal project, trying to minimize the number of people who'd have to shell out for foreign postage, finding people on all 7 continents to sign and forward one piece of mail. She not at fault for the New Zealand postal system being f***ed up. She didn't want it to be late, so she hand delivered it to London. That's a hell of a lot of work!

On the other hand, I understand those who asked persistently to receive the card and never got it. We're all big fans of Michael Palin, and the chance to put our names on his 65th birthday card was a big deal.

But let's not lay any blame on Sally. She did her level best on a project of Pythonic proportions. If you feel badly about missing your opportunity, you can send Michael a card yourself (I'm sure he won't mind it being late--at 65, time goes by so fast that dates take on less significance).

Peace.
Mrs. Thing
