OK, I need some education about French politics here. He was the leading candidate of the Socialist party but he was living in a $3,000.00 a day suite in that NY hotel. What does "Socialist" mean in France right now?

I am afraid that to be socialist now in France is becoming something like the Labour Party in England. I wasn't ready to vote for a "socialist" like that because he shows he's got money and I was sceptic about his plans to help poor people in France ...

It's a sad day when an ultra rich and powerful man can't have a wee grope at some chambermaid.

It's a happy day when an ultra rich powerful man ends up in handcuffs for abusing any woman. It's a good thing that that maid had a powerful union behind her (one of the few unions with any guts left in the U.S.)

I work with a French national, who is also rich and considers himself Socialist. He is practically in mourning. Under our system, he is innocent until proven guilty, but I must say I enjoyed the idea of him on Rikers Island and doing the perp walk. Is it a setup? Who knows?

He is not anymore in prison but in a flat that he rent with his own money by 'ground zero'. It is a very expensive one. But we cannot say if he is guilty. In the US of A they have a strange system of justice. So I think that the image of him with hand-cufs are very shocking.

Seriously, why is DSK's wife still with him AND smiling?

The New York Times today:
"Prosecutors said they had accumulated enough evidence to show that Mr. Strauss-Kahn, who was managing director of the International Monetary Fund at the time of his arrest, “engaged in a hurried sexual encounter” with his accuser, a housekeeper at the Sofitel New York, a hotel near Times Square."

Oh I'm so glad it was only a "quickie," because if it lasted 4 hours or more you know that definitely there were drugs involved!

Who knows? Maybe his wife is a total slut just like he is.

(:-O

Just got a NY Times News alert that the Judge has dismissed the Indictment case.
