In addition to the regulars, I've eaten black bear and cougar. I will hunt niether, although I'll eat the piece of bear I do have in the freezer right now.

I think about the meat I eat.

Overtly and performance-spiritual types (people that too often say things like bless you) might say I pray or give thanks and I guess that is what I do most every time I eat meat.

I think about the meat I eat and the animal who becomes part of my diet.

Ostentatious 'spiritual' types (guys who say bless you too often) might say I pray or give thanks and I guess that is what I do most every time I eat meat.

I'm afraid I am very finicky about food. Apart from the animal-lover aspect, I could NEVER kill something and then eat it - YUK! No 'Good Life' for me!

Zak was quite shocked when I actually had eel at a 'posh' buffet in our hotel in Dubai a few years ago - I was surprised myself actually! I can't remember how it was served now, but it wasn't in jelly as it is traditionaly served in London. Quite nice in fact.

[As an aside, at the same buffet we were seated next to some French people. I had had a henna 'tattoo' done on one of my arms and hand earlier in the day in the desert, and I overheard one of the ladies discussing it in French. They were going 'just look at her arm!' and other things such as that - from what they said it seemed they thought we were locals and that I'd been forced to have it done!! I purposely said something in French so they knew I understood at least SOME of what they had said!! Their faces!!!]

I have never knowingly eaten anything 'strange' in any of the countries we have visited. We have often been offered ram's 'bits' in Turkey, often as a joke, but haven't fallen for it so far!! It is a great delicacy there by the way.

SHUDDER!!!

:D
