Can you use Hotmail, Yahoo mail or Google mail? I have them all and can change my address instantly. Both Yahoo and Hotmail have spam filters that do work for all but the random character type of spam.

I've changed my e-mail address so now have 2, one with BTMail and one with BTYahoo. I'll be deleting or stopping using one of them in due course.

Then I got what looked like a serious virus but after a complete switch off and reboot it seems to have disappeared.

I collect books on mountaineering. I discovered there is one by Murray on the Scottish Himalayan Expedition (1950) and decided to look for it on the internet. There seems to be about 6 or so copies available from various sellers through Amazon. I have asked one seller with a copy with dustcover a question about the condition of the dustcover. I tried to do the same with another seller but couldn't (either finger trouble or blocked) so found the second seller's website to try the direct approach. Into their search facility I put Murray Scottish Himalayan and pressed the button. I got 17 pages containing 95% of stuff totally unrelated to the search and absolutely nothing with all 3 of the search words! Hmmph!?
When BT set up my new e-mail address they put it into the BTYahoo facility and it isn't working right. They are transferring it to BTMail in the next few days.

Hey you guys! Look me up...hopefully I check my spam and spot the notification. F******k sends so many meaningless messages that it gets sent to the spam mailbox.

Is anyone getting e-mail messages that start with or contain symbols in their inbox. I think it is incredible the lengths spammers will go to to defeat spam filters. Every time I go to my inbox the first thing I have to do is mark from 2 to 10 items of this junk as spam before I can do anything else. It certainly puts you off e-mails and makes you want to pick up the phone or write a letter instead!

Yeah, I get spam messages with random-generated characters that evade spam filters. I don't waste any time on them and send them to spam.

I've been blocking and sending all my inbox trash to spam but still they come unabated to my inbox. This morning I googled 'inbox trash blog' to find somewhere else to moan about it (other than palinstravels) and I couldn't believe it when their first page of results contained a lot of websites offering advice to anyone who wanted to send spam to an unsuspecting person on how to prevent their emails arriving in junk, spam or trash folders!

My wife got a phantom order by email from an Amazon seller yesterday and we think they were trying to pull a fast one. It's an item I was checking availability of some months ago and they've latched on to that fact by sending my wife a phantom order for it. I spent 1/2 hour on the phone (0800 number) this evening to Amazon in the Philippines and they've sorted the problem (and the seller too I hope).

I have set up a new email address a few months ago and am moving my important contacts into it one at a time. So far I have had NO spam or trash received by this email address. The old address is still receiving plenty of junk in the inbox.
