My Canon printer stopped working. I pressed all sorts of buttons without success. A wifi mouse and keyboard we had to begin with for this machine were very tempramental so we changed to our old hardwired devices. Remembering this I thought hard wiring the printer would fix the problem. Our Apple man and our son-in-law both agreed and our Apple man offered me 2 suitable cables free. I went 30 miles (+30) and got the cables today. On boot up to print the document that wouldn't print our printer list showed 2 new versions of printer. I don't know where they came from. After further consultation and trial version 3 works (one of the new ones) and the other new version hasn't been tried. Why did Canon give me all this trouble because they have updated their printer software while I was perfectly happy with the original 2 versions? I have yet to unplug the free cable to see if the wifi connection works with version 3. I'd lay very good odds that it probably does.

I've just paid a 10 minute visit to a random chat room and discovered that they seem to be a bunch of knife carrying alcoholics. I gave them a warning and left.

The visitors to that random chat room are much less scary at 0530 UK time.

There is a problem in the Just Chat website - it looks like a virus similar to what appeared here at times. I have tried reporting it to that site's webmaster and the police. Hopefully a fix will stop the illegal activity, possibly generated by the website in the continuously repeating (I couldn't spel repetitive!) messages being posted. Avoid Just Chat at the moment.

P.S. I do know how to spel spell! - and my guess at rep... is correct.

I'll not move this to the joke book yet.

I've hit the jackpot. After years of searching for an internet chat room that doesn't have idiots, trolls, spammers, porn. etc. I've found one with sensible people in it. If any old palinites would like to join me there let me know and I'll give you the details for joining me there. Their system is so good the likes of johnny the monkey and Morse couldn't get into it, or if they did the moderator would block them immediately.

Sounds good, Ken but what with Twitter and Facebook I would never get off the computer!

I notice that I didn't name the website for the chatroom - in any case it gives access to multiple chatrooms, all of which have their foibles - and now I can't remember which one of the ones I've tested that I was referring to?!
