Well she was going to be waked, rather than her waking up.

There is no good way to deal with said situation. It is not as though you can suddenly move said dead person to the cargo area during the flight. Putting the bereaved in the cargo area certainly would not work. If you land the plane to do so, you scare the passengers who now think the plane is in problem and if the deceased is in a packed coach section, how do you get the body out?

I can also understand the point of the businessman waking up next to a body. Hmmmmm.

Yeah, okay, I've never thought about it before, What DO you do mid-flight??

There is no space to spare in the passenger compartment of a plane. If you really take a look at how the meals/drinks/supplies/equipment are arranged, it is a marvel of engineering and design.

Should airlines leave an empty space on a plane WITH no empty space for the very rare occasion that someone passes away during the flight? It's (forgive me) not at all economical.

How about building it into the floor? A sort of morgue-drawer type storage space. It would actually occupy cargo area space. It could be accessed at the very back, in the little work area behind the seats, so it wouldn't be a big show for all the passengers to have to see. And then everyone would not be stepping on it, which a lot of people would feel is disrespectful.

Where's my money?!
