Has anyone watched Fierce Creatures? by brainhurts on 5 April 2003 4:03pm

Watched it the other night and it had some nice comic moments in it, but it lacked the OOMPPHH of Fish Called Wanda.
Our Michael, as usual, performed in great character, but there wasn't enough of him! Old John Cleese was being, ermm, John Cleese. And Jamie Lee Curtis wasn't really doing anything apart from being the object of desire
for Mr Cleese. What does everyone else think?

Basically agree with your post. So did the critics, if that matters.

And definitely NOT ENOUGH MICHAEL!

I did like one line he had, explaining to JC's character that he needed to behave in a certain way around her which would result in "some sort of mounting behavior."

I feel the pretty much the same about it.
Needed more MP, and Kevin Kline needed to be let off his tether a bit more. He's brilliant....

I actual found FC funnyer the AFCW SORRY.But even though I laughed more the story was weak there wasn't anything to hold you to it, There wasn't enough Michael like has been said and while Michael had a more challengeing role in AFCW in this movie Cleese seemed to fall back on a Python style charter. So I got more laughs from FC and really enjoyed the animal story line but AFCW was still a stronger movie. And THERE WAS TO MUCH JOHN CLEESE,I know thees proableing alot of his fans here so I do not want to offend but he seems a bit big headed these days. Has anyone seem then Harry Potter and the Sorusers Stone,His is one of the first names and his part in the movie amounts to maybe 3mins total..
Sorry thats just irratating,I love Cleess but for crying out loud give credit where it is do..
LOL,
Beth

Yes, I've seen Fierce Creatures... far too many times... the thing that stands out most in my mind is irritation with whoever made Palin look so old.... he doesn't look like somebody's grandfather in real life, so why should he in a movie?

I actually saw it a little while ago, my sister and her husband (who happen to be just like me, die-hard Python fans) had told me years ago that they didn't really like it, but I found it really nice and entertaining. Never like AFCW, but I had a great time watching it, I loved John Cleese in this picture, and especially his relationship with the animals, but I strongly agree with all of you, not enough Michael Palin, and his character is not as interesting as could have been, though I love the part when he shows the tarantula to John Cleese.

I've seen both movies and I'd have to say that I found Wanda to be the better film!

Beth, I think you'll find that the supporting cast of Harry Potter is listed alphabetically, which is why John Cleese is near the top of the list.

Cheers,
Michelle :)
