Poetry in Spanish

Le vi en el restaurante (I saw you in the restaurant).

Le vi en el restaurante,
Yo no le conocía (I did not know you)
Cambiamos sonrisas a través de mesas (We exchanged smiles across tables)
El dueño nos presentó (The owner introduced us)
Estrechamos la mano tímidamente y no hablamos mucho la primera vez
(We shook hands shyly and did not speak much the first time)
Ahora sé que somos ambos regulars.
Y tu me enseña español (and you are teaching me Spanish)
Elizabeth, tu es hermoso en cuerpo y espíritu (You are beautiful in body and spirit)
La gente dice que el español es la lengua de amor
Elizabeth, tu encarne esto.

Almuerzo con Cetiva

Cetiva es mi amiga por trabajo.
Sonreímos y coqueteamos cuando ando por delante de su escritorio.
(We smile and flirt when I walk past her desk)
Un día yo me sentaba solo en el almuerzo
Cetiva preguntó si ella podría afiliarse a mí
Una mujer hermosa con una sonrisa agradable
Sólo alguien insano o muerto podría negarse.
Por primera vez realmente conseguimos charlar
Gracias por traer gracia hasta mi día

Ken, my 'contribution', is a translation of Robert Burn's 'my love is like a red red rose'. The most beautiful expression of love ever written . ( in my humble opinion ).
