Favourite cakes? by Little Gumby on 8 August 2007 6:08pm

I've just made chocolate cup cakes for him indoors to cheer him up. Nice a gooey topping that is very yummy if I do say so myself and just right for comfort food. So what would you all eat - cake related and not creme egg!!!

I just love cake but nothing too creamy or sickly. Like Sophie, cheesecake and carrot cake are my faves, also muffing and good old Madeira cake.

My friend Veronica makes gorgeous carrot cake and when we visited them a couple of Sundays ago (Yorkshire) we not only had some there but she sent us home with a few slices!! Bless.

They are visiting us in October so I'm hoping she'll come bearing gifts....

Hmmm ... Chocolate cake is my all-favorite, but I love carrot cake if it doesn't have any nuts. Spice cake is good, too, with raisins and cream cheese frosting. Yum!

I also love red velvet cake, though not because of its taste. It is yummy, but what I love about it is the deep red color. It just looks so extravagant! :+)

J...I'm flattered that you remember the Ol' Madeira cake but it's no help to me when Granny's plummeting 1200 feet off a levada. Was she pushed or did she jump? The fact that Madeira cake is very dull should give you a clue. Oh yes,I can never trust a man who can't spell the word muffin.

Ginnyp, I like ' plain ' although I think you are not. You are just plain daft.
