Guess what I saw today? by Ellerd on 13 October 2007 3:43pm

I visited a bookshop today, which is more exciting than it sounds considering I have to travel a 200km round-trip just to visit one! Anyway, on display on a table in the front of the shop was *drumroll please* Michael Palin's New Europe! Hardcover copy, $49.95 at the ABC Shop. Considering we've still no word (here in Australia) of when the series will be shown on TV, I was quite surprised to stumble across the book. Had a quick flick through it - Basil Pao has done another fantastic job with his camera, there's some great photos in there. The book looks great!

It's on my Christmas wishlist, Louise. Didn't buy it in case I find it under the tree on Christmas Day. Nothing worse than receiving a gift you already have! :-)

No sign on the U.S. horizon...yet.

U.S. People (and anyone else who wants to help your poor, pathetic North American cousins to get to see New Europe before the next millennium),

Go to the Travel Channel http://travel.discovery.com/ and wander around until you can find someplace to comment. Discovery is not big on viewer input but, if you take the time to get through, it will make an impact with the always nervous network execs. DEMAND that they show MP's New Europe ASAP. I spent 30 years in television and I have seen many times where one well-timed letter made a big difference in network programming.

Go to it, guys!
