Hey Concord,
Yep, I was also lucky enough to meet Michael today, and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life!
I'm now, however, feeling quite ill after having spent three hours outside in the cold waiting. But oh well, you have to take the rough with the smooth, I guess :).
I'm impressed that you actually had the courage to speak to him - after a brief, "hello" I just stood there, nervously, shook his hand, thanked him (which he returned :D) and walked off, grinning from ear to ear :P.
Luckily, my brother managed to get a few seconds of film of me shaking his hand, so its a memory I'll be able to revisit forever :-).
Anybody else?

I went and it was awesome, I didn't get the courage up to shake his hand unfortunately, but he asked me how I was, which was nice. I asked him, and apparantly he was good- nice to know! It was definitely worth waiting over two hours for, even if my sore throat has now esccalated and I have no voice! I am relieved it didn't rain though, that may have dampened my spirits a bit!

I was there as well. I was 10th in the queue after getting there about 9.30. 3 hours later I walked in and there he was, Mr P. I asked him how the writing arm was holding up, he said " Fine thanks, but it'll get a bit of a workout today though ". Got New Europe signed and ATWIED DVD cover, awesome, thanks Michael, your a truly great guy.

When was the book signing, and where, I havent been on in a while. I can honestly say that I am jealous of everyone here, because you all have a chance to meet Michael Palin in the UK and I am stuck in the USA, busy with school.

Wow. It all sounds so wonderful! It's just good to hear that he's a nice guy!

I know! My friend said to me 'what if he's not very nice?' I think she was slightly worried that she'd placed him on a bit of a pedestal, but he's just as charming and smiley as he is on TV, which is fantastic!

Skittlebunny, I think I may have seen you there. That last comment ("what if he's not very nice?") certainly rings a bell! Where you, by any chance, stood behind a guy in a black coat with long-ish brown/auburn hair, drinking hot chocolate? :P
