Is the jam good? I've seen quince on the bush.

I had quince (for the first time) in Turkey last month...

We told our friend about the Owl and the Pussycat rhyme.

Is a quince a pear ?

Re: Exciting news! by Spursfan on 4 December 2007 11:44am

Well it resembles a yellow pear - or pair if there are two hahahahaha.

I can't remember (blame the hormones) how they had prepared it.

Normally if we visit our friends and drink tea with them, out come plates of goodies - in summer, pieces of melon (usually the red sort, watermelon?), grapes, or other fruit; nuts or even homemade biscuits or cakes. This time on one occasion out came slices of quince.

To Turks, hospitality is most important.

That IS exciting!!!!
Missy if you were eating quince jam on toast and you were walking around and you tripped and fell onto the toast would you be getting on your own quince?

When I was growing up we had a damson tree and a quince tree and my brother and I gathered the fruit for mom to make ppreserves with it. I recall the flavor of damson but the quince I can't. I know for sure that I liked the damson better, however.

Re: Exciting news! by Miss-M on 5 December 2007 3:16am

Aww Mike, that was cringe-worthy ;)

That's exactly what it would mean, kazzzz! I'd love to get on my own quince. And I do. Regularly. And others' too, I suspect ;)
