The Chatter Box : Blathering On
Any fans of Simon Reeve on here? by vlad all over on 4 February 2008 1:07pm
If you've never heard of him, he's an author/presenter who has done a number of brilliant travel docs for the BBC. As part of BBC2's Holidays in the Danger Zone he presented Meet the Stans where he visits, obviously, places like Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, followed by the sublime Places That Don't Exist where he visited unrecognised states such as Somaliland, Taiwan etc.

In his last series Equator he followed the line through countries like Colombia and DR Congo and at one point contracted malaria!!!

Anyway his new series from the same team is Tropic of Capricorn and starts Sunday night on BBC2. Any fans of Palin's Travel docs should watch this. Hopefully it will live up to his previous shows.

"Equator" screened here in Australia on SBS a few months ago - unfortunately, I missed the first episode, but the last two were good. I haven't seen any of his other series yet, but it sounds like something I'd find appealing.

Can't wait to see "Tropic of Capricorn". It will be of added interest to me because the Tropic of Capricorn crosses the coast not far north of my hometown.
