Getting older.... by johnnythemonkey on 5 June 2008 4:23am

My newspaper had a fun article with quotes from celebs about getting old. A couple of my favourites,

Eric Idle. " Just keep pissing in your pyjamas and complaining about everything. That's the great benefit of old age. "

Chrissie Hynds. " I don't really mind getting older or looking older. I mind getting uglier and looking uglier. "

Phyllis Diller. " My photos do me an injustice. They look just like me. "

Definitely. I creak a lot more than I used to!

I turned 50, and it seemed the warranty on my body ran out. In the past two months, I've been diagnosed with arthritis in my spine and tendinitis in both arms. And I think I can forget about losing weight.

But a nice-looking older man gave me the eye the other day, so I guess I'm not a complete skag yet.

I look better on the outside than I feel on the inside some days.

Oh, Judy, lucky you. It's only dirty-old-men who try to chat me up in swimming-pools these days...but there, we all have memories....

Getting older is a big success. I had a female acquaintance ask me if I cut my hair like I had done, so I would look younger. It didn't work...maybe I should try acting my age instead!

Getting older......finding grey hairs. The ones on my head are obvious and have been earned.

You're as old as you feel, Youthful Trekker - you enjoy life too much to evenTHINK about age slowing you down!
