Anyone got a motor scooter? Help! by TERRY S on 7 July 2008 6:20pm

Hi, gang. I am a tiny 4' 8" tall (or small, depending on your opinion)lady. A few months ago, I found a motor scooter that I fell in love with called a Yamaha 125cc Cygnus X (preferably the jade one). I have one big problem. I need a seat height of 600mm and this particular bike's seat height is like 750mm or something stupid. I love this bike and I can't drive a car because I am too tiny for this also. I want this bike so much. My big question is: has anyone got any idea of how and where in UK I can get one either made in my size or get a regular one adapted to fit me? I've tried everything! Everytime I see pictures of the bike, I get miserable that I can't have it. I'm not ashamed of being small, I love who I am, it's just that this is so frustrating, that's all. I've looked for companies on the net, so any suggestions are welcome. Oh, before I forget: the show room I went to took some of the padding out of the seat, it still didn't work, I was still too little! To quote Geordie in TNG: "I want every suggestion on the table - It doesn't matter how outrageous". Help!!

I'm surprised that the dealer couldn't help you, Terry. Have you checked with Yamaha online? The URL below has links to Yamaha dealers worldwide (sorry, I've forgotten where you are).

Look out you old platform boots ?

Sorry Terry, could'nt resist. I would'nt think it would be too big a job to get one adapted.

How ridiculous that they obviously just make one size fits all!

To Johnny: not old enough to even remember platform shoes, Mate! Ha, Ha! It shouldn't be big job, no. It's finding someone who can do it.

To Kazz: It is stupid. Even my boyfriend ha trouble finding a small enough bike and he is 5' 8"!

To Mrsthing: Yamaha online was the first place I tried. No luck. But thanks.

Anyone else?
