Michael to speak in London by EstelleTaylor on 8 October 2008 10:22am

Michael will be speaking at Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre on 13 November!

Should be a really great time, with Michael sharing some of his many travels stories and taking questions from the audience. He's called the event Around the World in 80 Ways. With him having returned from India just a fortnight before the event, I wouldn't be surprised if he shares some of his latest adventures with us.

Tickets available from Ticketmaster.

The event is a fundraising event for Campaign for Better Transport. Michael is the president of the organisation (and, full discloure, I work for it!)

Thanks, Suzulu. Spread the word! Oh, and we've a funny old photo online of Michael on a bike... carrying a spatula and collander. One of his lesser-known means of travel:

Best of luck with your fundraising, Estelle. It will be a very good evening.

Not your fault that I volunteered to work for your campaign a couple of years ago & never got a reply, even with SAE!

What a great night. Michael was excellent. Funny anecdotes, more insight into his fantastic journeys and I must get a copy of Bert Fegg's Nasty Book for Boys and Girl. What did you all think?

I really enjoyed tonight. One of the best talks that MP has given. I loved his reading of Graham's autobiography. I remembered that passage written about my home town well, and hearing Michael relay it live made me giggle so much.

Yes, indeed, a really great night. The first half mostly was about all the different modes of transport he used on his travels (with photos on a big screen). The second half was devoted to answering questions and his reading from Graham's book and Fegg. I must get copies of both.

I met up with Kisch who had come all the way from Russia and we were lucky to have really good seats - Kisch in the front row and me in the second row.
