Associated Press Network have announced this morning [Friday] that the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize will be awarded to Barack Obama for his efforts to reduce international nuclear arms stockpiles,reduce tensions with the Muslim world,and his efforts to promote diplomacy and negotiation above American unilateralism.

Congratulations, Mr. President.

I hope the President can find the time to accept his award for peace. He's a very busy man.... fighting two wars ( at the last count. )

As the host of a talk show put it, Obama's running around putting out the flaming bags of poop left by the Bush administration. He began reaching out to countries that had felt marginalized by the prior gang in the White House. That was the first story I saw on the news this morning, and it set the mood for the day.

They're Bush's wars. I don't think HE was awarded a peace prize.

Sorry, missed the other thread, just blind, I reckon.

Whether it is too soon or not is irrelevent now, though, he is handling it in the best way. Was this meant as some Europeans "paying" the President off? Possibly, and some will make this accusation, whether true or not. I suspect, this was meant for some on the Nobel committee as a final kick in the butt for Bush.
