System Restore, anyone? !! by Spursfan on 15 December 2010 10:56am

Having just done a System Restore* on my laptop I have just thought - wouldn't it be WONDERFUL to have this facility in real life?!!

Imagine - you have been in a particularly important meeting. You break for coffee and visit the loo, then re-enter the meeting.....with your skirt tucked into your underpants!! Oh the shame. Solution? Reset your system for the day before and redo the meeting WITHOUT the skirt in the pants episode!! (If you're wondering, NO this hasn't happened to me personally (thank goodness!!)

I am sure you can think of lots of other examples. I know there would be a temptation to rerun wonderful days over and over (Groundhog Day syndrome?) but there would be an inbuilt 'thingy' to prevent this.

:))

[*IN CASE you don't know, this restores your computer to a previous set point, say 10.30 a.m. on Saturday 11th December. It is useful when your computer has a wobbly; sadly my problem is with AOL so it didn't work - checking online others have had this problem (I can't sign on and get a message Error 23-UVRI) and they say nothing works, you have to delete and reload AOL, could be a virus. I am currently on AOL via Internet Explorer.]

That would be a wonderful tool to have in life. I would've availed myself of it many times.

I'll pop back to 1985 thanx!

I see people living groundhog day all the time, working in dementia. It's not too good.

Do you work with dementia patients, Kzzzzz? Cheryl's Grandma is in a facility and has Alzheimer's quite bad.
