5 second synopses of movies by Loretto on 1 September 2011 9:03pm

I nearly peed laughing at this guy's youtube channel. So funny. He does synopses of movies in 5 second video clips. The one that made me laugh out loud was Titanic,

Maybe I'll take in a few more movies on You Tube now that the time spent/entertainment value makes it worth my time!

The three episodes of Lord of the Wings or whatever would only use up 15 seconds? Perfect.

Wasn't Titanic's screenplay in that synopsis a helluva job though Pete?

"This ship won't sink!"
Cue bubble sounds!

They should do all of Shakespeare that way too!

Yeah! That last Titanic movie was OK, just an hour longer than the entertainment could be dragged out. This guy is funny alright.

I did enjoy all of The Merchant of Venice, but it could benefit from this guys editing.

Oh, Thank you!!! I loved it.

Titanic is one of the worst movies I've ever seen in my life but, unfortunately, I saw it at an industry screening and it is very bad form to walk out on an industry screening. I might have walked anyway but I had people on both sides of me who were all atwitter because they had family members who worked on it (Who in Hollywood didn't work on it?!) so I was a good girl and just took it. However, I couldn't stop myself from laughing "inappropriately" in a couple of places at the ridiculous dialogue. [DeCaprio handcuffed to a pipe with seemingly no way to escape as the water is rising to neck level and what is his line? "This is bad." That had me rolling on the floor.] James Cameron has got to be the worst screen-writer in Hollywood but his overwhelming ego somehow gets these bad films produced. I've never been able to get through more than 5 minutes of "Avatar", a tribute to the horrors of rotoscoping (but you can get away with it if you call it something high-tech. Cameron + rotoscoping = absolute hell.) End of rant.

I'm sure there have been and will be many 'good movies' but so many that people rave about just don't do it. I think that marketing has ruined my perception of the industry. When the target audience spans all our stages in life (child, teen, adult) and socio-economic situations, how can it be pleasing to one group? One of the last movies I forced myself to watch was a pirate movie with JD.

There is a movie genre for gore, action, comedy, children, drama, sex, adult, mystery, teenagers, intrigue, international, blah blah blah...but not all in the same movie! POTC was irritating and tiring because of the overload of attempts at appealing to different audiences.

Another movie that would be better in 5 seconds.

Your rant was better, G!

Geraldine, when my husband and I went to see Titanic we came out of the movie roaring laughing at the end scene. My husband's quote here;
"I would have kept the diamond and thrown the old lady over board!"

'Mister Frodo!'
'Sam...'
'Hobbits.' :D

That would be funny with the Shake plays.
'A horse! A horse! My kingdom for a-' *stab*

"I'll be back."

Cue sequel.

Great synopses, mp, especially the Richard.

The best thing about Titanic was having the old lady there and getting other generations to remember a forgotten actress, Gloria Stewart. How anybody can make the Unsinkable Molly Brown unforgettable even though a great actress like Kathy Bates is playing her is a tribute to James Cameron's lack of talent. Guess my rant isn't over yet but I so hate ego prevailing over talent as is so often the case in Hollywood.
