The Eiffel Tower in Paris is looking very good today at the moment. You can see all the main struts in the structure quite clearly.

Zak and I visited Paris in 1989 with our Council staff club. It was the tower's 100th birthday that year so it had special lights on it and looked especially pretty.

We visited in December and it was very very cold, minus something. Zak went up the tower with some others, and I stayed behind at the bottom and bought myself some hot chocolate! The reason I didn't go up was that I hate heights, and although I would've been ok at the top, I was worried that one of the 2 lifts wouldn't work and I would have to come down the steps in the legs which would have been ghastly!

As it happened, they found that one of the lifts WAS out of order when they'd finished looking at the view and so they had to queue longer for the other one.
