So a civil partnership is not the same as a civil marriage? Why the 2015 date? Does it take that long to draft a bill?

To me it's exactly the same. I have gay friends.

So what does a child raised in a same-sex family tell the class what his Mom and Dad do at show-and-tell?

"My Dad is a fireman, and my other Dad is a _______" Sorry, please fill in the blank.

Actually believe it or not one of my classmates in Journalism is the child of a divorced couple. Her Dad has remarried, to a man. She just says she has one mom and two dads.

Great movie called, The Kids are Alright, with Annette Benning and Julianne More about same sex couples and children.

It's about personalities, not male or female, at least that's how I see it.

Yes, now that I've had a night's sleep and can think straight again. That is similar to what I told my stepkids, "You guys are lucky to have three parents."

Anyone remember a TV show in the eighties called My Two Dads? I liked it.

I do kind of remember it, but it must have been when I visited the US when I was 16, RTE would NEVER have shown a show with that title.

So, hypothetically, two fellows could 'get married', have an 'open' marriage, and see any women they want who is willing, able, and a) wealthy b) equally willing and c) willing?

Sounds like a win win for the men.

I guess it depends on your homelife situation, relationship etc. It could be give and take, give, give, or take, take.

Don't let your imagination run too wild on this thread!
