Wheelrim in search of new music by Wheelrim on 24 September 2012 6:53pm

Hi Folks. I like my music, I really do. With that in mind I would ask you good people to share a good music video with the online Palenites here. If each person could limit it to one per week that could work, I am kicking it off for you older ones with Buffey Saint Marie, The Lyrics are a great indication of the modern world. You younger ones might learn some new stuff here and us older folk might get `with it` too.

Thanks. We might learn something here about each others music tastes.

Yes Loretto, I remember it too and loved it when it came out, I was lucky to see the Boomtown Rats in Hong Kong around 1981. great and underated group. well done.
Whilst on the `Tube` caught up again with `This is the World Calling`.. see, one good thing leads to another.

Wheelrim, Buffy Saint Marie has a lovely voice. Loretto, I love that video, Irish music is so uplifting.

Great idea for a thread, Wheerim.

One recent trend since the rise of Youtube is collaborative music between people in many different countries. For example, the project 'Play for Change'. Matches the spirit of Palin's Travels, I'd say:

1. 'Stand by Me':

2. 'One Love':

3. 'Gimme Shelter':

I am glad I started this Thread, all the above are great, I particularly love the `street` musicians who always have an `earthy` feel. Talent is Talent. Unfortunately Cheese is Cheese and I am including the following as the one song that makes me smile whenever I watch it, however cheezy!

If we stuck to Wheelnut's suggested 'rules', this thread could run and run. As they used to say in the working men's clubs around here, " One singer, one song".

I'll post something later. I've enjoyed the ones I've watched so far.
