I am already planning a trip to Bath. Is it worth continuing on to Cardiff? What is there to see in Wales?

When we were staying near Cardiff years ago (actually we were at Butlins Barry Island with our kids!) we went to Cardiff to look round the castle. I seem to remember Caerphilly castle is not too far either.

Wales has loads of castles to see, also mountains and great scenery in general.

Cardiff is also where Dr Who and Torchwood (the spin-off series) are filmed, and you can go to a Dr Who Experience, if you are into that sort of thing.

There is also good nightlife in Cardiff.

Hope this helps you decide whether to visit or not, Mike.

Thanks Anne. I realized it was so close to Bath, and if we wanted to, could still get back to London that night.

The Doctor Who exhibit caught my eye. We figured a few hours in Bath, train to Cardiff and an express train back to London.

Or just get in the Tardis...

:D

You're welcome, Mike.

That works Anne, LOL!

Plenty to see in Wales, Mike!

Pembrokeshire, where I am from, is beautiful but probably too far to visit while you are in U.K.

Cardiff is a fine city. Two hours by train from London.

I knew that our resident Welshwoman would eventually comment. She's probably just returned to London, tired of choral singing and eating leeks. ;)

Sue invades Scotland to hit Johnny with bunches of leeks, or sing at him. Or it could be a rugby match. Leeks vs Haggis.

No, Mike, we Celts stick together. You're going to visit the common enemy. :)
