USA trip and dinner with an ex-Palinite. by johnnyBgood! on 2 August 2018 12:16pm

I recently made my first trip to the USA. I spent four days in NY/NJ, then flew to Kansas City and spent four days in Missouri.
I met up with an ex regular from here, Cori (canaveralgumby), who is the sister of the friend who was showing me around NYC and putting up with me for four days ! She's a great person and five of us had a great night dining in Maplewood NJ.
I'll maybe post more about my memorable trip later......and maybe four of you can get to read it. ;-)

I've thought about getting together with palinites in the past but the older I get the less inclined I am to do so. Glad to see to had a great time JBG.

There goes my invite for a cuppa next time I'm in Fife.
Oh, I was in Culross last week, Ken. Don't know how I've missed out on such a gem of a place over the years, when I've crossed the Kincardine Bridge many a time. It is now famous for being used for locations in the 'Outlander' tv show, which I've never seen.

Cori came to the UK a couple of years ago and saw a lot of the country by train (England and Scotland). She stayed with us for a couple of days and we took her to Stratford on Avon and the Wedgwood Museum and Wedgwood factory tour. I think she enjoyed her stay. [I know you know all this John] ;)

Yes, Anne. She enjoyed her time with you and in the UK in general.
I was feeling pleased with myself for travelling alone for the first time until Cori told me she had made the trip by herself (she uses a wheelchair). Her sister is planning on visiting Scotland next year.

Did she tell you about the probs she had on her flight from the US, I think from a stopover in Ireland?? They lost a wheel off her custom made chair, gave her money to buy another chair, then days later they [thank goodness] found the wheel. This meant that when we met her off the train she was "Cori Two Chairs"!! [For our American chums, the politician John Prescott is known as Two Jags]

I think she did mention something about that, Anne, when we were out for dinner.
I managed to bang her foot just pushing the chair out of the restaurant. :-(
She was in NJ for a week but I was only there for four days and only met her on my third day.
Maybe I'll go to Florida on my next trip.

There's no such thing as an ex Palinite...once a Palinite always a Palinite!
