Can I discuss this here? by Dianne on 12 October 2002 10:25am

Well, I'm going to anyway, but I'll make it short just in case only Michael's travel series and projects are to be discussed on this wonderful site.

I had heard many good things about the 'Ripping Yarns' series and only recently was able to buy the 3 videos with the 9 episodes. So, far I have only seen 6 because I'm still waiting for the second video of the three. What I wanted to say, was what a great series it is. Absolutely superb!

Hi Dianne,
I agree with you totally........Pure genius!!

Whats interesting is that they haven't dated and beat the stuffing out of a lot of TV comedy (or what passes as comedy).I can watch them over again and again and always laugh even though I know them all well.
'Tompkinsons Schooldays, Roger of the Raj and The Testing of Eric Othelthwaite' are my favourites though the others come a close second.
Happy watching
Ellen

Dianne, I`m sure you can! After all, what is "Across the Andes by Frog" if not a classic travel programme ;-)

Louise, you took the words right out of my mouth. :-) ‘American Friends’ could be classed as a classic travel movie . . . can’t it? Well, the characters in the movie did go to Switzerland on holiday! :-) In addition, ‘The Missionary’ spent 10 years in Africa. :-) I’m sure I could come up with some others.
