The Chatter Box : Blathering On
The War in Iraq. by tucsonmike on 4 February 2006 5:15am
There was an interesting thing on the BBC News. An International Lawyer who just wrote a book saying that Tony Blair and George Bush were in on Iraq together, that it wasn't just Blair going along. I was just watching David Brancaccio on NOW on PBS, where he was interviewing Colin Powells' former aide Col. Wilkerson. Wilkerson has spoken out, because he says he can't live with what he has covered up.

On Washington Week in Review, Iran and building Nuclear Arms was covered. We can't do anything about Iran. They are holding the cards on this one. Y'all thought Iraq was a threat? Ain't seen nothin' yet.

What do you think he's covering up?

Having seen Fahrenheit 9/11 and read numerous related articles, I don't even wish to know anymore.

My faith in governments and political figures couldn't possibly depreciate any further.

George, Col. Wilkerson alluded to the weapons having been dismantled. I am skeptical, only because the Kurds who were gassed didn't just roll over and die.

I don't understand Tony Blair at all. Can someone enlighten me? Why is he so cozy with Bush on Iraq? His pedigree puts him on the left but his international actions put him on the right. Am totally confused by him.

We don't know either, Geraldine! We're totally confused too!

I want to shake him by the neck (as opposed to Bush who I want to strangle by the neck.) What the hell has he been thinking of?

Putting all Blair's international piccadillos aside (the most important considerations, I'll grant you, but I'm shallow), I'm still grumpy about his caving to class prejudices and animal rights activists on the hunting with dogs ban - I'm not talking about fox-hunting here but coursing with sighthounds. England used to produce the finest sighhounds in the world but that has been failing for decades and will now dwindle into insignificance. And the rabbits and foxes will still be killed by the farmers but by shotgun and poison so they will die slow, agonizing deaths rather that the quick predator/prey kills mandated by biology. grumble, grumble, grumble... (Matron, I could use your help here.)

Now now Sight, you know the Secret Service frowns on threatening the President. (Though at the rate things are going, there will never be enough agents to ever enforce it).:-)
