desperate to leave the country by montyfreak0234 on 1 March 2006 11:29pm

i so want to leave the country. i have never been outside the mainland united states and live a dull life in ohio. there is almost nothing to do. (i know some would disagree because there is cedar point, kings island, rick and roll hall of fame) but really there is nothing else. i want to go to england i want to go see rome and actually see what we are studying in my latin I class (and that romans go home in life of brain wasnt quite right accoridng to my latin teacher Jro). maybe its just me and the hate for the city i live in. or maybe not. my grandfather says hell take me to england someday but it wont be for a while. he owns a store that almost everything is from england (even the training video by john cleese) and the store is fairly famous, its calledd WEst Point Market but i doubt anyof you have heard about it or even care and at this point i am just rambling on about nothing. well at least i am going somewhere over spring break (for once).

It sounds like the spring break will be good to get away for a change of scenery.
Here is something for you to look at.
If you get the chance to come to England, also try visiting other places in Europe aswell.
By using the Eurostar train from London to Paris and low cost airlines such as Ryanair (www.ryanair.co.uk) and Easyjet (www.easyjet.co.uk), it really is possible to hop from country to country for ridiculously low prices.
I wish you all the best with planning your future journey to ol' London town and I would be more than happy to hear more about your plans or help you with any questions. :-)
Simon

Well see what works out, Monty. How much time do you have for Spring Break? Do you have your passport yet? (That normally takes about six weeks. You can pay extra and get it in two weeks. The State Department has a link to explain all that).

my grand father says hell take me over the summer when i am 16 (which is in 2 years and 4 months (right before i am a senior in high school). so i dont hve a passport and my school only gives us a week and a half for winter break and a week for spring break and our school system is screwed up with a "North Face jaket gang" and i hate north face but my mom got me one as a joke (but at least it was on sale). but none of you really care anyways and at this point i am babling about nothing like usual like my family says...

Wait for your grandfather to take you when you can go for longer. It gives you something to look forward to as well.
A week and a half isn't very long. You said you are in Ohio? Have you been to Toronto? Fun city and it would not be that far and it is something you can do in a week.
Check out some distant part of the U.S.
When is your Spring Break, anyway?

Montreal is almost as close and much more fun than Toronto.

Actually, that's true. Montreal IS more fun than Toronto. What was I thinking? Favorite restaurant in Montreal? A Polish place called Stashs.

On a different tack but the heading matches, did any palinites get stuck in the queue at Heathrow airport waiting for the fog to clear before Christmas 2006?

Ken, I've been extremely lucky because I flew from Stansted, which was in a much better situation. Only a 20 minutes delay, nothing to write home about really.
