Yes I do remember watching it as a child, Linda - the last episode where one (can't remember name) joins the army so Terry does too - only to find (too late) that his mate has been discharged was brilliant!

And I enjoyed 'Whatever happened to the Likely Lads' too.

How about 'When the boat Comes In'? That was compulsory viewing!!!

Also I can distinctly remember as a teenager turning down a date because The Forsyte Saga was on!! I loved it (as I did Upstairs Downstairs).

Oh the days before video/dvd!! You either watched it or missed it!!

I think you can probably get the Forsyte Saga on dvd now - I'd like to get it.

Oh yes, Anne!!! (And I lived without video until 1985...)- I waited for YEARS before I caught up with ONE of the episodes of 'Forsyte Saga', and how annoyed you were if anyone dared to phone you during a favoutrite programme...messagephones were one of the best inventions, ever!

Yes, it was Bob. Rodney Bewes. Another who found it hard to get work, till he started doing one-man shows, which are still popular in cdertain areas - he trades on 'Bob ferris' a lot now, I think.

Published a rather dodgy autobiography a couple of years ago: I bought it, wrote him a nice fan letter & asked for an autographed slip of paper to stick in the book. Got a nice non-reply (didn't mind: he's had troubles with dyslexia) an autograph which said 'Rodney Bewes ' 60s Icon'

Well, I laughed at that!

LOL, Linda.

I saw Rodney Bewes on the tube once with, I presume, his wife. He saw me looking at him in recognition and smiled at me.

I did see him in a play in the West End but can't remember what it was called.
