Who wants a Glühwein? by Holle on 13 December 2007 12:58pm

Look what I found at the BBC News site:

Oh dear, nobody can escape this Flying Circus anymore.

The spot on the South bank near Tower Bridge in London is home for a "mostly German" food fair now. Bratwurst, Gluhwein and Bier in abundance. Was a bit surprised.

Aren't we in the UK copycats? Shows how successful the German ones are if the model is being exported

MMMmmm... that sounds good...!

I've never had Gluhwein, but I've had lots of Swedish Glogg, because it's so incredibly delicious it's hard to stop... Glogg and Pepparkakor (ginger cookies) now that's the best of Christmas in edible form... I bet Gluhwein and Glogg are similar... I just looked it up, and it says Glogg means "glow"... It's true!

A Gluwein sounds good at this time. Some Bratwurst might be in order as well.

I love Gluhwein - it reminds me of skiing holidays (I don't go skiing anymore).

Pete, you make good progress, just go on and when you come here, you can order one by yourself :-). There are some good winemakes in the Elbe valley north of Dresden, who offer their own Glühwein for the Chrismas markets. It's much better than the usual mixture. And it's a bit stronger, you need only two or three and you can fly ;-).
