Michael Palin's work is superb!

I started watching Monty Python at the age of 13. During many hours of laughter at every sketch and film Monty Python has created, Michael soon became my favorite Python. His travel programs are also so entertaining yet at the same time so factual and educational, that although very different to his other work. It is just so brilliant and such amazing television, that I would go as far as saying Michael is one of the best faces of television there has ever been. |

Some of the little things Michael does strike me as incredibly brilliant. Like when the "It's" man is having a talk show with Lulu and Ringo Starr, and the credits start to role and the celebs walk off. The It's man comes back and picks up a little wooden plate on the coffee table and just fiddles with it. I don't know why that strikes me as brilliant, but it does. Way better than him coming back and just looking forlorn or shrugging.
I like the way he wags his head in the Man With a Tape Recorder Up His Nose sketch. That little gesture makes it more interesting. Graham doesn't do it (not sure I would, with someone else's finger up my nose!), and it's not as convincing. |
