US Assassination Plot Foiled by mrsthing on 28 October 2008 11:14am

I hate it when my dreams have anything to do with reality. I suppose it had to happen sooner or later, though. This was just two kids, and Obama was going to be their final target, but still--I shuddered when I read it.

The significance of the number 88 for skinheads is that H is the 8th letter of the alphabet; 88=HH=Heil Hitler.

One week to go...

"Just" two kids. They can really do some damage , too, sometimes, Judy.

Yeah, I had the TV on when they broke in with the story. Apparently had discovered this only 30 minutes prior to the announcement. They didn't have many details then, but it was scary, no matter for whom one is casting a vote. Long ago, back wherefore Obama was even nominated, our family was having a discussion of this possibility. Not something this country needs. has happened much too often. I don't think the threat will be gone even after the election. I'd sure not want to be in his position with the zanies in the world. And one needn't be of color for the threat. Look at our history---Garfield, Lincoln, 2 Kennedys, King, Reagan, Lennon. All of notoriety, some popular, some not, but targets of the insane and evil. It happens worldwide, not just here. Just horrific.

Today marks the anniversary of the end of WW2 and Hitler and the Nazi Party's demise, 63 years ago.

Luckily, these stupid punks didn't have the wherewithal to carry it out.

No, but there's more where they came from. I have a feeling there will be more attempts before the country accepts a black president.

I so agree mrsthing. Even if he's fairly elected, I think there's a real possibility he'll be assassinated before he completes a full term as president.

1) If it happens THE GODS FORBID, it will come out of nowhere.

2) This is more like a Columbine situation. The kids weren't stupid, they were really disconnected from humanity and disturbed. I'm not feeling sorry for them, I'm just saying...

I'm afraid I'm with Linz on this. My reaction was "just one?"

Somebody said today, "Sarah Palin may be one heartbeat away from being President, but Joe Biden is one bullet away."

But this is too depressing! We're going to have our first black president in 7 more days, and he's going to be great, and he'll help restore our reputation in the world, and he'll have a fairer tax plan, and Joe the Plumber will be SO glad he was wrong.

Hear, hear, Judy! It's a huge thing for all of the rest of us, too, but for you there, making it happen...well, words fail & will seem trite, so I won't.
