Citizen Police Academy Updates. by tucsonmike on 31 October 2008 1:18pm

I posted the last two weeks on my blog and a silly one complaining about civilians. We have seen the 911 communication center, and heard from the Asst. Chief of Patrol and an attorney in the Pima County Special Victims Unit. Lots of interesting stuff.

I bet. I have involvement with local police at the moment, and the respect (always high)just grows.

I expect the same feelings for you?

Oh yes, my respect for cops is growing greatly. What are you doing with the local police?

In British parlance, she is ' helping the police with their enquiries'. :)

Or in Australian parlace, she is "a person of interest." ;)

Missy, that's the term we use in the U.S.

'person of interest!' yes, I'll go with that one, Missy! (They have actually been alarmingly flattering. My 'line manager' is very young & good-looking & didn't mind at all my saying helpfully 'when I was 26 I thought the police were all fascists!' )

I'm taking round petitions to local residents to get them to sign them so that the local authority can be persuaded to add many more 'alley-gates'to our local area. These are tall steel gates with spiked tops - placed against the many small un-noticed alleyways by railway lines (in my suburb, and at the very undisturbed backs-of-houses). They're good as burglar-deterrence and stop fly-tipping too.

I have to send these petitions to the council - after they've been checked over by my 'line manager' - with a very eloquent plea as to why this should be done, here, NOW.
