'New' pyramid unearthed in Egypt by Lounge Trekker on 11 November 2008 8:17pm

The 18th pyramid was discovered in Egypt. It is estimated at over 4000 years old and stood 5 metres high.

It is thought to contain the remains of the mother of a King.

I guess nothing happened in Canada today, so they put that on the news.

That's an interesting contrast: ancient Egypt and today's Canada! :D

Once, when I got stranded by a blizzard in Vermont, I was surprised by the next day's newspaper front page: a giant color photo and story about the blizzard and a squirrel who was having a hard time finding food. It was so innocent - that that was all the news! Ah, Vermont!

Why are you homebound, Pete?

Vermonters aren't afraid of a little blizzard. Nutmeggers (people from Connecticut, the Nutmeg state), however, go all hysterical with just a forecast of snow!

The 18th pyramid was only about 18 feet tall? Isn't that kind of small? Maybe it was a prototype. LOL Or maybe the king just didn't like his mother that much.

Good question, Mrs. T. That is a very small eternal home for the mother of an Egyptian King. More likely...a careless blunder by a foolish Canadian! I rattled off the original post as fast as I thought I heard it.

Actually, home is not a bad place, and being here is OK. Hockey is well under way and I feel strong. I'm playing some squash too, and that is just great. It's never too late to make a comeback.

For any other middle-aged person who wants to play like a youngster...may I suggest you ease back into it, gently?

Yes--at 50, it's MUCH easier to stay in shape than get back in shape!

Oh Pete surely Celine Dion did something noteworthy today.

BTW, the new pyramid is estimated to have stood 46 feet tall. I think that's about 14 metres.

Is this where the word 'Mummy' comes from?
