New Year's Resolutions for 2010 by bIG bLOGGER on 2 January 2010 3:06pm

My New Year's resolution is to be as nice as pie [and how nice is pie,eh?] to every contributor on Palins Travels, and that includes the Welsh, the Scots and the Irish, because they are some of the finest folks on the planet. Some people, from time to time, are quite hard to get along with, let alone agree with, but that sets me an even greater challenge to be nice to them despite all.Bravo, start the new year in a positive frame of mind and it's all downhill after that.

So you are only going to be nice to anyone of Celtic origin bIG! :-) Sure that's only 1/10th of the planet. I'm Irish as you know so I'm included in that fraction. My new years resolution is to make a really good new years resolution in 2011.

Can't recall where I read it. (perhaps here wihtin the alst day or two, butt Someone said they don't believe in resolutions because it means one must have failed in some aspect of their life. Otherwise, you wouldn't feel the need to make them. I thought that was funny. : )

I prefer to use "intention." It's a bit gentler, not as militaristic. In my case, I intend to finish the novel that I've been working on since I was in France.

70% of people who make these resolutions give up within the first two weeks.

And I suppose you're going to add that the other 30% have given up by the time the first month is out?
