After Christmas bargains by kazzzz on 6 January 2010 4:09am

So who got a bit of a good bargain in the after sales?
I got the usual cheap cards and wrap, also some boxes of chocolates and bikkies which I've popped away for Easter. Also some lolly stocking for $1 for my nieces.
I also got Ava a couple of pairs of shoes (1/2 price) and Ray some shirts BUT my bargain of the year (and probably decade) was a 2 metre high white Christmas tree, reduced from $100 down to $10!!! It was the last one in the shop. They did have purple ones before Christmas, they were all gone, but this one will be great to decorate purple next year :) And if I ever get sick of purple we can have a colour scheme change. That's highly unlikely though !

Well we got a few bits and bobs but the most ANNOYING thing is that just before Xmas Zak bought 2 ASDA hand-rolled Extra Special Yule Logs which were on offer for £3 for 2 (they had been £3 EACH which is ridiculous if you ask me). Anyway, after Xmas he saw them for 50p each!! And we had bought them for AFTER Xmas anyway so we could've saved ourselves £2!!

:(

Hey guys. Always save your receipts. One of you could return the originals and the other, re-purchase! To aovid embarrassment, pretend you don't know each other. HAHAHAHAHA

I bought two necklaces, a gorgeous light grey, wool, cable knit long scarf and a pair of jeans (silvery-ish color). All were on sale at 65% off. They were a steal. I had my eyes on them before the holidays but had already asked for tons of other stuff. My birthday is this month so they will come as part of my gifts from the family. Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!

Oh, and I saw some very cute Christmas stickers for decorating the tissue inside packages and other things. They were 75% off. They are usually rather expensive for what you get.

Not really a bargain story but thought it funny.

Over Xmas, Sophie, her partner Jason and little Bethany (19 months) stayed with us. Of course we hadn't a cot, so she shared their bed.

On Boxing Day, they had put her to bed for a sleep. Jason later went to get her up and found her in the midst of chocolate papers on the floor!! We had given Sphie and Jason (as well as other members of the family) Popping Candy Choc Oranges amongst their pressies, and Bethany had eaten all but 3 pieces of Jason's orange!!!

Sophie and Jason were amazed because they didn't think she could even climb off the bed!

So a warning - keep your choc oranges (and creme eggs) well out of the way of little fingers!!

:)

[A sad note to end this on. Sophie moved into a Battered Wives Refuge yesterday with Bethany as Jason had become aggressive (again). He has beaten her up before and although he didn't actually HIT her this time she had had enough.

Well done Sophie, I say. Also she has moved much nearer to us, only 15 miles away instead of Worcester (60 miles), so we'll be able to support her.]

OMG Anne was she sick????

And yes well done Sophie, it's a hard decision to make, but much better to make the decision while Sophie is young.

I got a very good Northern Ireland calendar and a 2010 diary in a pack in Kirkcaldy (Scotland) yesterday for £1.49. It was their last copy.
