This is so funny that I can't not share (men might feel uncomfortable reading this!) by BethGoth17 on 20 February 2010 10:33am

Yesterday, my mum received a late birthday card from her ex-mother-in-law (my granny) In the card, she explained why it was late. This is what she said. My eight year old cousin has had an operation on his testicles. Apparently he was kicked by accident whilst playing in the school playground and it ascended upwards. I don't know that means but it sounds painful! OK, it may sound terrible to you but to me and my mum, it's hilarious.

My dad's side of the family is really cultured and "upperclass". Instead of going to the Christmas panto, they go to see ballet, so you'd never expect this would happen to their little boy!

I don't actually see the humour in a child being hurt and having to have an operation at all. Poor little kid.

I agree with Kaz. besides, that is a super serious injury. Could be life changing. and it's embarrassing for the child too, perhaps. Really a serious situation all around. Poor kid, and an awful worry for his parents

It's possible it could make him infertile. That's pretty serious.

Exactly what I was thinking, Kaz...

I don't see what being 'upper class' has to do with the likelihood of being kicked in the nuts at school. I went to a pretty exclusive school, and it was often downright brutal.

Neither do I, nor do I see why you have to be of a certain class to go and see ballet.

Well, you don't know my dad. My mum and I couldn't stop laughing. We weren't laughing at poor James, we feel sorry for him. It's just that my aunt and uncle think the operation is unnecessary, which we don't agree with. We think it's very necessary.
