Stolen from the "Series" side:
Re: Ripping Yarns...help!! by Webmaster on 14 January 2004
Good news from Michael's office: all 9 Ripping Yarns are going to be issued on a DVD by a company called Network Media, towards the end of this year or early next year. Network are currently working on enhancing/ restoring the quality of the original film material, and Michael and Terry Jones have recorded a commentary.

Hello,
I'm sorry to inform you that this Network Media in Northern Ireland isn't the same company you refer to. We do make TV programmes and when I worked for the BBC I did a spell as Asst Producer on Michael's Great Railway Journeys of the World II
(Derry to Kerry). I've taken a couple of enquiries already so maybe the other "Network Media" can help.

Man, I hope they release it over here in the US... it would be a major crime against humanity if they didn't.
We'd have to arrest Palin.
And Jones.
Yeah, and make them do comedy shows for us! |

To fellow US viewers -- consider getting an all-region DVD player so you can play everything from everywhere. I got my first one at Scarecrow Video in Seattle (206.524.8554); I bought another on ebay for just $75. |

somewhat related question: has anyone tried playing different region-ed DVDs in a DVD-ROM? Do they work? Or do you have to tinker with settings to get them to play?

Yes, NQE....I'll lead the arresting party...I'm with you! I've got a great extra room in my house to stow them in too....Not for my OWN personal benefit, mind you, just trying to be helpful!

As far as the DVDs go, I just bought a Region 1 of Sahara released in China, so it works on my player and it's in English (though I can watch it with Mandarin subtitles if I so desire)
I love it!
